Birth

Benjamin Proctor was born on 13 August 1829 in Hamilton County, Illinois, United States to Little Page Proctor (1760-1852) and Sarah R. Bates (1786-1853).

Military Service

He enlisted as a Private in Company D, 6th Illinois, Cavalry on 11 October 1861 at McLeansboro, Hamilton, Illinois for a period of 3 years. Muster date was 9 January 1862 in Shawneetown, Gallatin, Illinois. The personal description was 5'11" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair, farmer.

Death and Burial

Benjamin died on 12 May 1864 in Hamilton County, Illinois, United States at the age of 33. He seems to have died as a result of his military service; however there is no record of that. He was buried in the Concord Cemetery, McLeansboro, Hamilton, Illinois. Find A Grave: Memorial #115282936
