Birth

Kiziah M. Proctor was born on 6 July 1821 in Hamilton County, Illinois, United States to Reuben Proctor (1796-1880) and Sarah Ellen Mathis (1806-1892), known as Sallie.

Marriage and Family

She married Rev. Charles H. Griffin (1813-1872), son of Samuel Seely Griffin (1776-1873) and Elizabeth Ann Harris (1782-1845) on 8 June 1839 in Peoria, Peoria, Illinois.

Children of the Griffin-Proctor Marriage

  1. Samuel Asbury Griffin was born on 22 September 1841 in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. He married Louisa Jane Mitchell (1849-1932) on 3 September 1868 in Warren County, Iowa. Samuel died on 15 November 1926 in Warren County, Iowa, United States.
  2. Reuben Francis Griffin was born on 19 January 1844 in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. He married 1) Deborah Ann Slone (1846-1908) on 25 January 1866 in Warren County, Iowa and 2) Cora Celia Adams (1864-1952) in 1917. Reuben died on 27 November 1924 in Pleasanton, Decatur, Iowa, United States.
  3. Rev. Joseph William Griffin was born on 18 May 1846 in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. He married Malinda Marguerite Fetters (1853-1935) in 1869. Joseph died on 22 October 1925 in Chariton, Lucas, Iowa, United States.
  4. Elizabeth Griffin, known as Eliza, was born in March 1852 in Peoria, Peoria, Illinois, United States. She married Leander H. Rice ( 1848- ) on 21 February 1872 in Warren County, Iowa. Eliza died c. 1926 in Johnson, Iowa, United States.
  5. Mary L. Griffin was born on 30 November 1855 in Peoria, Peoria, Illinois, United States. She married James A. Walker (1849-1928) on 19 February 1875 in Warren County, Iowa. Mary died on 7 August 1935 in Warren County, Iowa, United States.
  6. Levi Daniel Griffin was born on 6 September 1859 in Warren County, Iowa, United States. He married Cora Ann Shupe (1867-1935) on 16 February 1887 in Warren County, Iowa. Daniel died on 27 May 1940 in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, United States.

Death and Burial

Kiziah died on 25 August 1884 in Warren, Bremer, Iowa, Unied States at the age of 62. She was buried in the Plainville Chapel Cemetery, Milo, Warren, Iowa. Find A Grave: Memorial #27049261
