Looking for sources ... Katherine's mother is said to be Elizabeth Kidd of Linton (although the marriage quoted is for Agnes Proctor not Elizabeth Kidd). John Proctor of Linton in Craven had a daughter Catheryn baptised on either 17 September 1564 or 17 September 1565, depending on which transcript you use.[2][3] This Catheryn may have died in infancy, as Familysearch has a date of burial 31 March 1568, seemingly entered by admins there but no source.
Regarding the marriage to Christopher Newport, there are at least two baptisms of a Katherine Proctor in London suitable for this marriage: Katherine Procter 5 April 1561 at St Mary at Hill, less than two miles from the church where she was married[4][5] and Katherine Proctor 10 December 1564 at St Mary Magdalen, Milk Street, only about half a mile further.[6][7] Unless there is other evidence, they would seem more likely than 220 miles away? Note - Christopher's profile states marriage in Harwich but the date given is for Stepney.[8]
