An Edward Proctor was resident in Virginia [1].
Edward Proctor, as per the original import, is said to married to Margaret Smyth and for them to be the parents of Mary (Proctor) Yarborough. The link being a marriage (of a husband from London to a wife from Buckinghamshire) in 1628 in Laneham, Nottinghamshire [2][3][4] and the marriage licence of the daughter in London in 1635 when she is stated to be 20 years old and marrying with the consent of her father.
Clearly, at least two different Edward Proctors have been conflated here.
There is no evidence found as to the name of the mother of Mary (Proctor) Yarborough but it was evidently not the Maragret Smyth who married in 1628, who was probably not the Margaret Smyth from Buckinghamshire.
Margaret Smyth has been disconnected as the spouse of Edward Proctor and mother of Mary (Proctor) Yarborough.
There is also no evidence offered to connect this Edward Proctor to his stated parents, nor to the Edward Proctor said to have died in 1660 in Virginia.
The one solid fact is that an Edward Proctor, Gentleman, was father of Mary (Proctor) Yarborough who was born c1615 [5].
Edward Proctor was baptized 14 Apr 1577 in Rylstone, York, England. His father was Anthonie Proctor[6]
