Biography
Mary was born in Pannal, Harrogate, Yorkshire 1779 & baptised Mary Procter, 16 November 1779, Pannal, St. Robert of Knaresborough, Yorkshire the daughter of Bryan Procter & Agnes. [1] [2]
The marriage of William Bentley & Mary Procter was conducted on 16 June 1802, Pannal, Yorkshire. [3]
With husband William & daughters in 1841 living in Pannal, Yorkshire.[4]
She died on 7 October 1846 [5] & buried 12 October 1846, Pannal, Yorkshire. [6]
". Mary. Married May 1802, when twenty two, to William Bentley,
the younger, a neighbour. With him she lived at Pannel Hall in very
affluent circumstances, but perhaps not in very great domestic comfort.
He died rather suddenly July 13, 1843, aged 64, and at his funeral I
attended. She died October 7th, 1846, aged 66, rather suddenly, but was
not much regretted by her family. They had: Thomas, born June 2, 1802,
married to Mary Ann Wright, Octr 9, 1833, still living at Pannel Hall;
Mary, married to William Wright of Beckwith House; Eliza, a spinster,
still living with her brother Thomas, and Anabelle, who died a spinster
in the present year. Mary Ann, wife of Thomas died Dec. 7th. 1845,
aged 39. "
