Biography

Maurice was born in 1876. He is the son of Alexander Proctor and Brigitte Hearn. He married Bridget Anne (Annie) McNamara sometime between 1901 and 1904. In 1911 they are living in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia with four daughters and Maurice's mother, Bridget. He is employed as a coal miner. [His name is reported as Michael on the Census]. In 1921, they are lodging with Edward and Mary McNamara and two children: Hilda, age 12 and Francis. A, age 5. Maurice died in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1942. The death registration indicates he was a miner with the Dominion Coal Company, and that he had carcinoma of the lip at the time of his death. His brother Alex is the informant on the registartion. He was buried at St. Anne's Cemetery, Glace Bay.
