Biography

Marie (Proctor) Hadley immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Mary Proctor was baptized as Assington, Suffolk, England on October 17, 1633, daughter of John and Martha (Harper) Proctor. [1] [2]

Mary/Marie, aged 1, with her parents and brother John, aged 3, were enrolled as passengers on the Susan and Ellen on April 13, 1635. [3] [4]

Mary married George Hadley by about 1655. [1]

Mary died by June 29, 1668, when her husband George Hadley was remarried to Deborah Skilling/Skelling. [5]

In her father John Sr.s' will, written on August 28, 1672, he names, among others, his grand daughter Martha Hadley, L10, when she comes of age. [1]

George Hadley wrote his will on September 18, 1684, naming daughter Martha Hadley among his heirs. [6]
