The Activists and Reformers Project is a Sub-Project of the Notables Project.

The radical ideas of one generation are often the common sense of the next. When that happens, give credit to the activists and movements that fought to take those ideas from the margins to the mainstream. We all stand on the shoulders of earlier generations of radicals and reformers who challenged the status quo of their day. ~ Peter Dreier

How to Join

Are you interested in the Activists and Reformers Project?

Goals

Any improvements you can make to the profiles of people who were Activists and Reformers are welcome, but here are some specific goals we're working towards:

• For each person:
  • All duplicates merged into the final lowest profile ID number.
  • Project sticker included on the page
  • All relevant categories are added
  • Parents are correct and documented
  • Biography is cleaned up, free of any GEDCOM junk, Ancestry trees, etc., and ideally has an actual written biography.

• Pick a profile from one of the categories below and see what you can do to improve it. This could be things like adding more to the biography, finding additional sources, adding more of their family, making sure the profile has the right stickers/categories, etc.

Create New Profiles for Activists and Reformers

Create profiles for activists and reformers not yet on WikiTree. Be sure to do a thorough search to make sure they don't already have a profile.

If you wish to recognize the person's activism on their profile you can add the Activists and Reformers Sticker

at the top of the Biography section, just below the == Biography == heading.

The sticker parameters allow you to add the Movement category, ie Civil Rights, Suffragettes, etc.

For example:
