About the Project

The Baham Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the [https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Baham Baham name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Baham name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Bahams), by time period (18th Century Bahams), or by topic (Baham DNA, Baham Occupations, Baham Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Jac Lyn Clark Owenby - I am interested in membership of the Bahams/ Bahms of Europe during the 18th Century. I am hoping that this research will help me trace relatives I haven't met. My Grandmother was Alma Bahm Reid daughter of John Paul Bahm/Baham (Son of Adolphe Baham and Rachel (Reed) Baham) and Pauline Bahm (Daughter of Dennis Baham and Martha Anne (Ard) Baham).

In the Doris Holden Collection at Southeastern Louisiana State, the Bahm/Baham/Bahan, ect,

show up in the Families of South East Louisiana. The story is that several (maybe 5) generations before Jean Baptiste Bahan, The Family was in North Eastern Spain, and one of the Sons was disowned for marrying a commoner. He moved with his wife to Southern France (Barsac, Gironde, Aquitaine, France). Jean Baptiste Bahan first got a land grant near Mobile AL, and later got a Spanish land grant, in Spanish Louisiana. His sons were mostly born in AL.

At this time the country of Spain were in control of Louisiana. If the Baham family know please tell me because I was very wrong. Thank You
