About the Project
The Biggs Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Biggs name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Biggs name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Biggses), by time period (18th Century Biggses), or by topic (Biggs DNA, Biggs Occupations, Biggs Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Notes
There are three know variants of the Biggs line.
- First is the New York line.
- Second is the North Carolina line.
- Third is the Anglicized version of Beggs or Baggs. Beggs or Baggs is Scotch-Irish in origin. Early records show a concentration in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Virginia, then moving westward from there.

There are three main Biggs lines. One from NC with English ancestry. One from NY with English ancestry. One from PA/VA with Scotch-Irish ancestry. Chances are high that your line is from the NY line. The Scotch-Irish line went from the phonetic Baggs/Beggs until about 1820 when they all Anglicized their surname.
On those two specific people, I don't recognize the daughter's name. Everyone seems to be related to a John back then. Until my generation there has been a John in my line since the late 1700s. Monmouth NJ kept coming up in my research. Might want to start there.
