Interesting! My mother was born to a Trevino father and de la Garza mother in Coah. As I follow the de la Garza line back I see just about every variation, like you list above. Also, I've found that little respect is given to the name by some churches there. While searching through images I've repeatedly come across those handwritten indexes with only Garzas when I was certain there were de la Garzas in the community. Conversely, deference does seem to be given to de la Cruz and de la Pena as I always see them when I'm looking. I'll be in those repositories for a while so let me know if there is anything you want me to look out for, and thanks for this study!

It's so good to see someone studying the Garza name. My great grandmother Manuela was born a Garza. I will have to look into your records.

Thanks and Kindest Regards, Allison
