Welcome to the Idaho State Project!


The state of Idaho was previously part of the Oregon, Washington and Idaho Territories and became the 43rd state of the U.S. on July 3, 1890.




How to Join

It is not necessary that you be related to someone who lived in the state of Idaho or live there yourself to join. Anyone with an interest is welcome! If you would like to participate, please do the following:

About

The purpose of this project is to coordinate all Idaho-related projects and resources and combine that information into one place. Our goal is to create and develop profiles on WikiTree for those who lived in the state of Idaho.

Counties

The following table provides links to space pages for each county in Idaho. If you would like to be a member of a county, send the project leader a private message, and you will be added to the trusted list. Currently, all counties need team leaders!

  1. Add Idaho-related profiles, checking for existing profiles to avoid duplication. If any duplicate profiles exist, request merges, starting with the oldest generation.
  2. See the Idaho State Maintenance Category "Needs" categories
    1. Needs GEDCOM Cleanup If profiles were loaded by GEDCOM, use WikiTree Styles and Standards to clean up residue and broken links.
    2. Needs Biography: Write comprehensive, well-sourced biographies.
    3. Needs Profiles Created: Profiles need to be linked to the greater WikiTree. Try to find the connection. Make sure profiles of all family members are correct and documented.
    4. Needs More Records: Search out original rather than derivative documentation and add sources.

  7. Help find the Last Name at Birth (LNAB) for Idaho Unknowns using the Profile Improvement Project Unknowns Team Process
  8. Help add profiles with the US Black Heritage 1880 Project Teams
