Welcome to the Latter Day Saints Project

Welcome to the Latter Day Saints Project! This project focuses on the Latter Day Saint movement, founded by Joseph Smith in New York in the late 1820s.

You don't have to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any of the other churches that spawned from the Latter Day Saint movement to join -- as long as you have an interest in Mormon history this project is for you!

Add lds to your followed tags.
We use https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/wikitrees-lds-project for communication.
Check out our maintenance categories for our project needs, then jump in and start helping!
Here is the project's Suggestion List. Working on these is a great way to contribute.
Look at one of the project's example profiles to see what we hope for in profiles that are part of our project. Other excellent examples from our project and others can be found in the Examples Gallery.

Goals

Any improvements you can make to the profiles of the LDS Project are welcome, but here are some specific goals we're working towards:

For each person:
- All duplicates merged into the final lowest profile ID number.
- Final ID locked, marking the profile as project protected (must be done by one of the Leaders), if the profile meets those requirements
- Relevant template(s) included on the page (See Templates below)
- All relevant categories are added.
- Parents are correct and documented
- Biography is cleaned up, free of any GEDCOM junk, Ancestry trees, etc., and ideally has an actual written biography.
- Children are linked if able
- Link Profile to Global Family Reunion
- Create Cemetery Category if known

Project Stickers

... became a member of the LDS Church between 1830 - 1848.

The {{Early LDS}} sticker can be placed on profiles who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints during the years 1830 to 1848.

... ... ... was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.

The {{LDS Pioneers}} sticker can be placed on profiles of Mormon pioneers.

... was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

You can also add the {{Religion}} sticker to a profile.
