Mission

This project aims to be a way to reconnect families with photos that get found or to help those with photos that need identification.

How to Join

The current Leader of this project is: Heather Morgan

To join the project:

  1. Answer the Family History Photo of the Week G2G post
  2. Ask Heather any questions regarding participation.
  3. Add lost_photos to your G2G tag feed
  4. Check out the To-Do list below to find something to help us work on, and add yourself (or ask one of us to) to that task

Goals

Overview of the project goals, followed by a table with specific tasks.

Possible goals:

  1. Identify the people, or at least one person, in the photo
  2. Build a WikiTree profile for them so the photo can be moved from the free-space holding page
  3. pertaining categories added
  4. templates added
  5. biography cleaned up and written, using the WikiTree Style Guide (can work with Profile Improvement Project for help)
  6. Attach family if we can find it
  7. Attached to the main WikiTree family tree (ask the GFR for help)
  8. Submit to Photo of the Week to grab attention, when they are uploaded

To-Do or Task List

"To participate in the project, we have a list of tasks that we need accomplished. To see details about the task, volunteer, participate in the discussion, or ask questions about it, click on the link, which will take you to the G2G thread about the task. Be sure to post on that thread if you complete the task so we can take it off the list!"

  • Create profiles for the photos currently housed at the free-space page
  • Build a biography for those photos that have been ID'ed
