México is one of the 20 Latin American nations. Officially the United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos), it is a federal republic in North America. It is bordered on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. Covering almost two million square km (over 760,000 sq mi), México is the fifth largest country in the Americas by total area and the 13th largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of over 113 million, it is the eleventh most populous and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world and the second most populous country in Latin America. México is a federation comprising thirty-one states and a Federal District. Its capital and largest city is México City, located within the Federal District and with a population (2009) of 8.84 million people. The population of the Greater México City Metropolitan Area population is 21.2 million people.

México has one of the world's largest economies, it is the tenth largest oil producer in the world and the largest silver producer.

The goal of this project is to gather people together to collaborate on Mexican profiles in order to increase their presence on WikiTree and ensure that they can be of the best standard possible. For each profile we will strive to:

  1. Make sure that dates and places are as complete and accurate as possible. This includes using historical location names.
  2. Improve the biography in order to honor that ancestor.
  3. Locate and add all available sources.
  4. Create a bilingual profile so that it can be read in Spanish and English.
  5. If we don't know Spanish that would improve the profile or determine all facts in a record, we will categorize it to get assistance.
