Hello! While I am not a Peters, my mother was raised Harriet (Peters) Reitsma (1926-1997), and considers her 4 Peters-descending cousins her siblings. Her siblings descend from a Jan Geerd Peters (abt.1831-), a German immigrant to Iowa whose married a Maartje (Koppendraijer) Peters (1846-1932), a Dutch woman, and their children became deeply involved in the Dutch Christian Reformed community--Harriet's branch ended up in a mostly-Dutch area of SW Minnesota. I'd like to join this project and see how I can help build this name and see how a Prussian ended up making relationships with a bunch of Dutch!
