This is an old myth that has spread through the internet. Unless you have solid verifiable paper proof of this, you more than likely are a descendant of Daniel Robbins and Hope Potter. It is believed that he was born about 1627, but there is no absolute truth to this date either. You may want to get your DNA tested to find out if you are descended from him. Their story is easy to Google.

I hope this is an appropriate place to post my question!

I'm trying to find info on my GG-grandmother, Hannah (Robbins) Case, who was born abt. 1829 in Steuben County, NY, but spent much of her life in Michigan. Her daughter, Emma J Case, married a Frank Robbins and, after he died years later, married his brother John H. Robbins.

It seems likely that Emma's husbands were related to her mother somehow, but I can't seem to make that connection or identify Hannah's parents. If anyone here happens to know about Hannah (Robbins) Case, I'd love to hear from you!

Hiya, my Robbins/Robins family are from Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire (UK), I'm a bit stuck before the 1750's (4th Great Grandfather). Happy to help/share what I have found.

Derek
