Mission

The US Presidents project mission is to bring together WikiTreers interested in improving the profiles of presidents and vice presidents of the United States; and adding their families to connect them to the main tree.

For the full, up-to-date list of participants, see the badge report. The award of your badge means you are willing to help improve the profiles of presidents, vice presidents, their families and ancestors. Please make sure you are willing to do the work before asking for the badge. If you want to follow work or issues around the presidents, just add the tag presidents to your Followed Tags

If you're interested in participating in this project, please do the following:

  1. Add presidents to your list of followed tags. That way you'll see all of our discussions in your G2G Feed.
  2. Go to G2G Forum and respond to our question.
  3. Add your name to the list below, along with a note about what you're working on in this project right now.
  4. Join our Google+ US Presidents discussion group. Make sure you have notifications set as "on"

Goals

As an inclusive matter, profiles for Jefferson Davis (President of the Confederated States of America), as well as those fourteen men who served as President under the Articles of Confederation (preceding the Constitutional form of National Government), are also part of this project's focus.

US Vice-Presidents

We are now starting to work the profiles and family branches for the Vice Presidents of the United States. Here is List, List of US Vice Presidents anyone working one of these profiles can indicate below. We also have a template for the US Vice Presidents at Template for US Politician

Task List

  • Adding Project Protection to all US Presidents, US Vice Presidents, Presidents of the US Continental Congress and Jefferson Davis.
  • Verifying parents and adding sources for all of the above
  • Verifying Ancestral lineages and making sure that the project manages at least the first four generations of ancestors.
  • Verifying wives and children and adding sources

The project box for the presidents is Template:US President. To use it on a profile, just put the following text on the profile, above the biography:
