About the Project

The Way Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Way name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Way name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Way's), by time period (18th Century Way's), or by topic (Way DNA, Way Occupations, Way Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Also see the related surnames and surname variants.

I would like to join the Way Project. I am specifically looking for information about William Way of Spencer Grange, Great Yeldham and Joseph Way, Eastwick, Hertfordshire. TiA, Melissa

Hi Melissa

Unfortunately, this name study currently has no coordinator to answer queries.

You could post your question on our G2G Forum, where it may reach a wider audience. I'd suggest including some dates along with the names and locations you are researching. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/genealogy

Hope this helps.

Rhonda - if you don't want to add me to the trusted lists, that's fine. You can merge the duplicate pages. See how here.

(this page is a duplicate of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Way_Name_Study & should be merged away into it)

Hi! I created the companion category for your name study (Category:Way Name Study). Feel free to edit it. The default for the template is to add the main category, but you can add a line to have a different category. See the ONS template page for details. Give me a holler if you have any questions about categorization.

I also created a redirect, so Project:Way (the link for the button from the Way surname page) brings you to this page.

Cheers, Liz
