Biography

Johann Jost Propper was born 1679 in Palatinate, Germany. He and his family were part of the Palatine Emigration.[1] John Proppert appears on the list of Palatine Immigrants in New York State. [2]

1709: Johann Jost Propper[3], his wife and 3 children were on Capt. Robbert Bulman's ship in the 4th party in Holland.[4]

Justus Pfropfer, aged 30 (Lutheran, husbandman and vinedresser), his wife, sons aged 7 and 4, a daughter aged 9--were among the 1709 arrivals recorded in London[5]

Johann Jost Proppert (Hunter Lists #577) made his fist appearance on the Hunter Lists on 4 Oct 1710, with 3 persons over 10 and 2 under 10.

Joost Proper was a Palatine Debtor between 1718 and 1726[6]

Marriage & Family

Johann Joost Propper married Anna Elizabeth Unknown. They had the following children:

  1. Maria Barbara, b. 27 Oct 1697, Looenburg, New York, USA, d. 10 Aug 1742, Livingston, Columbia, New York, USA, confirmed 23 Mar 1712 at Queensberg.[7]She married Conrad Keller
  2. Johann Friederich m Susanna Forster; 8 children
  3. Johann Peter m Rachel Hooghteeling; 9 children

Johann died 1726 in Livingston Manor, Columbia, New York, USA.
