Lawrence was born in 1898. He was the son of Fletcher Prosser and Martha Greenwood.
His birth registration states his middle name was Freeman however other documents say Lehman.
Appeared in the 1901 Canada Census in East Gwillimbury, York, Ontario. Please note the surname was transcribed as Proaser. The household included: Fletcher age 47, occupation farmer; Martha age 44; Wellington age 24, occupation farm labourer; Pemberton age 22, occupation farm labourer; W. Daniel age 18, occupation farm; Lottie M. age 20, occupation domestic; Nancy A. age 16, occupation domestic; Martha age 13. occupation domestic; Fletcher age 11; Gertie age 9 Lawrence L. age 3.
