Biography

Julia was born on 4 August 1875 in the St Andrew's district of the Burgh of Dundee, Angus, Scotland, the daughter of James Proudfoot and Julia Proudfoot, née Small [1].

Sometime between then and the birth of her younger brother, John Robertson Proudfoot in 1879, the family moved south to Cheam, Surrey, England [2]. By 1891, Julia was a domestic servant in Sutton, Surrey, England [3].

She married Henry William Marsh on 20 January 1894 at Christ Church, Sutton, Surrey [4]; the couple had two daughters, Ethel Julia Marsh and Winifred Marsh.

Julia died in 1907 at Sutton, Surrey, England, and was buried at Sutton Cemetery on 19 January 1907 [5].
