Please provide supporting information for Catherine. As Mentioned by Edwin Priest, there is no mention of a Catherine in Popes Prouty (Proute) Genealogy. David Prouty's Will lists only Wife Hannah, and Children David, Eleazer, Hannah Lamb and Sally Hall. There is no mention of any Catherine. Surely if he had a daughter Catherine living at the time of his Will in 1814 (your profile for her says she died in 1848), then she would have been mentioned in his Will.

Do you have any sources that support the contention that Catherine (who married Jonathan WItt) was actually a daughter of this David Prouty (1739 - 1814) and Hannah Ball?

According to "Prouty (Proute) Genealogy" by Charles Henry Pope (I've added a source reference to this profile - See pp.37-38), David only had 2 girls that lived long enough to marry: Hannah who married Nathaniel Lamb and Sally who married Jonathan Hall. He did not have a daughter named Catherine.
