Hector was born about 1822 in France (the exact location is not yet known), the son of Pierre Antoine Prud'homme and Jospehine Noel.[1].[2] The first reference of him in Canada, found thus far, was the registry of his marriage to Marie Therese Archange Belleperche, on the 30th of January, 1836, at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Sandwich, Essex, Canada West[3]. Together they had six children.[4] His occupation was listed as a painter, grocer and merchant over the course of his life.[5][6][7]He passed away on the 1st of August,1889, in Sandwich West Township, Essex, Ontario, Canada and is buried in an unmarked grave in Assumption Cemetery in what is now Windsor, Ontario, Canada.[8][9]

Family lore is that "Hector and his brother Adolphe came to Canada from Calais, France." No documentation has been found to confirm this. All records for Hector indicate a birth in France (nothing more specific) around 1822 and that he was Roman Catholic. The earliest record found thus far, is his marriage record which documents that his parents were both dead at the time of his marriage in 1856 and that their names were Pierre Antoine PRUD'HOMME and Josephine NOEL. No parish or origin for his parents was in that entry.
