Biography

James Prudden's daughter Elizabeth was born in England, and baptized on 17 Dec 1615, King Walden, Hertfordshire, England, [1][2] She came to America with her father James Prudden and her sister Ann Prudden in 1637. [3] James Prudden was admitted as freeman, 20 Nov 1639 - On a list of free landholders this date.[4]

Elizabeth was admitted to the First Church of Milford 8 September, 1644.[5][6]

Marriage to William Slough & children

William Slough came to Milford in 1640. [7] He joined the church in 1646.[7] Elizabeth Prudden married by 1647, William Slough[6] of Milford who was excommunicated from the church and executed at New Haven for "horrible depravity".[7]

  2. Hasadiah Slough, born 20 Nov 1648,[7] baptized 1648 by Rev Peter Prudden,[7] married Phillip Denman

Marriage to Roger Pritchard & children

Elizabeth married second, at Milford, December 18, 1653, Roger Pritchard, "lately of Springfield". [6][3] [8][2] Roger came to Milford in 1653, and was admitted to the church there on 28 May, 1653.[6] Elizabeth died 27 April 1668, Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut Colony [9]

Children with Roger Pritchard:
  1. Joseph Pritchard, b. 2 Oct. 1654 at Milford, Connecticut, d. 1676 at N. Brookfield, Mass. at the Battle of North Brookfield with Wimmeset Indians[6]
  2. Benjamin Pritchard, b. 31 January 1657 at Milford, Connecticut,[10] marr. Rebecca Jones,[10] d. 9 April 1743 at Milford, Connecticut.[11]
