Elizabeth was born in Monroe County, Ohio, the daughter of John Pryor and Francina Dement. She spent her early years in Ohio with her parents, then relocated with them to Owen County, Indiana sometime between 1872 (the birth of her youngest sister in Ohio) and the 1880 Census.
In 1890, she married Charles A Greene.[1] By 1900, they had had 4 children, with 3 surviving and in the home.[2] They had 3 additional children between 1900 and 1910, but son Paul had died before 1910. [3]
She and Charley continued to live in Clay Township until their deaths. Elizabeth died March 13, 1936, of myocardial degeneration and was buried at Hedding Road Chapel Cemetery in Spencer, Owen County, Indiana. NOTE: Sometime between 1920 and 1930, they changed the spelling of their last name to GREEN, as it appears on the 1930 Census, her death certificate, and their headstones.
