"John, Jr. and Frances (Puckett?) Clyborn must have had a young son, named John (3rd gen.), at the time of his death. Frances, widow Clyborn, married a second time to William Robertson of Dale Parish, Chesterfield Co, VA as is shown by his will of 1757. John Cliborn (abt 1712-1764/5) was named as son-in-law [meaning stepson] when his stepfather, William Robertson, bequeathed him a slave. The 1736 Henrico Co. Tax List shows that William Robinson [Robertson] paid the tax levy for John Clayborn."[1]

In the name of God, Amen. I, Francis Robertson of Chesterfield County being in perfect health and memory thanks be given to God for the same; and calling to mind my mortality and that it is appointed once for all men to die so I make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give my soul to God that gave it, and my body I commit to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executor never doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as to my worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and bequest and dispose of in the following manner & form.

IMPRIMUS, I give and bequeath to my son William Robertson all the money that is due to me and is in the hands of my son James Robertson, John Baugh, Thomas Rudd, Jonas Cliborn and David Owen, to him the said William Robertson and to his heirs & assigns forever after my decease, and likewise constitute and appoint my son William to be whole & sole executor of this my last Will and Testament disannulling & revoking all other Wills heretofore by me made,

acknowledging this & and not other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness I have set my hand and seal this 7th day of March 1768.

Notes for further research:

"John's maternal grandparents: William Robertson (his Will, written, April 4, 1757, Chesterfield County, VA, proved May 5, 1758). William's wife, Frances/Francis Puckett Tanner was the widow of John Clyborn when he married her. William leaves to his daughter, Frances Baugh, a slave named Abraham and a horse. William's wife, Frances/Francis Puckett Tanner Robertson, also left a Will, (Francis Robertson) written March 7, 1768 and proved August 3, 1770(Book 2, page 171), at Chesterfield County. She names John Baugh (her son-in-law, married to dau. Frances) as one of several owing her money. These two Wills are on USGenweb (free), Virginia, Chesterfield Co. Note: on USGenweb, because her name was written as Francis, someone thinks her Will is a man's Will." FindAGrave | 79970540. Note- The name "Francis" is a man's name. This author knows as the author is named the female version of the name. Richardson-7161 23:58, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
"Please note that I previously had the year that Wm. Robertson wrote his Will as 1758 as the USGenWeb site had it. I checked with the book: Chesterfield County Virginia Wills, 1749-1774 by Benjamin B. Weisiger, III. It had 1757 as the year William wrote his Will. William listed his step-son, John Claiborne(Clyborn) as his son-in-law. FindAGrave | 79970540

Puckett-502 and Cliborne-1 appear to represent the same person because: Frances Puckett appears to have married John Clyborn (1682-1712) and then to have married William Robinson (abt 1690-1764). She had children with both husbands. With Robinson...she had Margaret Robertson (1714-1757)...She married Thomas Rudd (1714-1792)
