Biography

Mathématicien, astronome et alpiniste.

Professeur à l'Ecole Normale Supérieure, membre de l'Académie des Sciences (1871).

Connu pour ses travaux en analyse et en mécanique céleste.

Membre fondateur du Club Alpin Français, il réalise en 1848 l'ascension du Mont Pelvoux, dont le point culminant (3946 m) porte son nom (Pointe Puiseux).
