Biography

Martin and wife Maria emigrated with their three sons from Hamburg, Germany to Port Adelaide, Australia aboard the "Heinrich" in 1856.[1] It appears that Martin and Christian Pumpa registered in Hamburg at the same time to emigrate, as their families are listed together on the Hamburg Passenger lists. Martin is buried in the Pleasant Hills Lutheran Cemetery in New South Wales, Australia[2].
