Gottlieb was born in 1858. He was the son of Martin Pumpa and Marie Hondow [1]. In 1878 he was granted 200 acres of land at Burrambuttock in the Albury district of New South Wales.[2] He passed away in 1910.
PUMPA. — In loving memory of my dear husband and dear father, Gottlieb Pumpa, who departed this life at Wodonga, on the 10th January, 1910. Gone but not forgotten.
It is just twelve months ago to-day,
- Since our dear father has passed away;
Since he has gone our,home is broken,
His loving hands shall toil no more.
A precious one from us is gone.
A voice we loved is stilled:
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The soul he loved had given ;
And though the body slumbers here
His soul is safe in heaven.
— Inserted by his loving wife and sons, daughter and son-in-law, A. Zeinert.[3]
