Biography

Elizabeth Jane Marshall was born in 1850 in Shalford, Surrey, England to Jane Marshall. Jane was unmarried at the time. Elizabeth was christened in Shalford on 11 Aug 1850.[1] Her birth was registered in Hambledon, Surrey in the third quarter of the year.[2]

In 1851 Elizabeth Marshall (age 0) lived at Shalford Common in Shalford with her mother Jane Marshall (18), step-grandfather James Ketcher (35, Farm Lab), grandmother Hannah Ketcher (40), half-uncle Henry Ketcher (6), uncle James Marshall (16, Farm Lab), aunt Elizabeth Marshall (14), as well as visitors David Covey (21, Farm Lab) and William Woolgar (22, Farm Lab).[3]

Elizabeth's mother married William Punchard in 1852.

Elizabeth Marshall (age 20, daughter of William Punchard) married Charles May (age 21, son of William May) on 11 Sep 1870 in Godalming, Surrey.[4]

Elizabeth and Charles had two children: Frances Anna May (1872-) and Charles May (1874-).

In 1871 Elizabeth May (age 20) lived in Godalming with her husband Charles (22, Labourer).[5]

Elizabeth May passed away in 1874, aged 24 years.[6]
