Biography

George Thomas Punchard was born in 1852 in Guildford, Surrey, England to William Punchard and Jane (Marshall) Punchard. He was christened in Shalford, Surrey on 12 Dec 1852.[1] His birth was registered in Hambledon, Surrey in the last quarter of the year.[2]

George Punchard married Sarah Hannah Woodward on 18 Aug 1877 at St Mary's in Cricklade, Wiltshire.[3]

George and Sarah had nine children: William Thomas Punchard (1878-), Jane May (Punchard) North (1880-1948), Arthur George Punchard (1882-1971), Herbert Tom Punchard (1884-1978), Floris Punchard (1887-1887), Elsie Annie (Punchard) Smith (1888-), Georgina (Punchard) Batting (1890-1980), George Punchard (1890-1891), and Alfred Woodward Punchard (1894-1970).

In 1881 George Punchard (age 28, Groom (unemployed)) lived in Kempsford, Gloucestershire with his wife Sarah H (28) and daughter Jane M (0).[4]

In 1891 George Punchard (age 39, Coachman Domestic Servant) lived in Ramsden, Oxfordshire with his wife Sarah Hannah (39) and seven children: William Thomas (12, Agricultural Labourer), Jane May (10, Scholar), Arthur George (8, Scholar), Herbert Tom (6, Scholar), Elsie Annie (3), George (0), and Georgina (0).[5]

In 1901 George Punchard (age 48, Coachman Domestic) lived at Crowsley in Shiplake, Oxfordshire with his wife Sarah H (48) and three children: Elsie A (13), Georgina (10), and Alfred W (6).[6]

In 1911 George Thomas Punchard (age 58, Coachman Domestic) lived in Newbury, Berkshire with his wife Sarah Hannah (58) and son Alfred Woodward (16, Baker Errand Boy).[7]

George's wife Sarah H Punchard passed away in 1928.

George T Punchard passed away in 1934, aged 81 years.[8]
