George Punchard was born in 1840 in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England to Jeremiah Punchard and Sarah (Ranson) Punchard. His birth was registered in Stow, Suffolk in the third quarter of the year.[1] George was christened in Rattlesden on 6 Sep 1840.[2]
In 1841 George Punchard (age 0) lived at Church Yard in Rattlesden with his father Jeremiah (40-44), mother Sarah (40-44), and twelve siblings: John (20-24), Susan (19-23), Jeremiah (17-21), William (15-19), Mary Ann (11), Eliza (10), Charles (9), Ellen (7), Emma (6), Caroline (5), Ann (3), and Henry (2).[3]
In 1851 "Henry" [George] Punchard (age 10, Scholar) lived in Rattlesden with his father Jeremiah (51, Ag Lab), mother Sarah (49), five siblings: Ellen (17), Ann (13), Henry (11), Alfred (8), and Harry (6), nephew Herbert Punchard (3), and grandfather William Ranson (72, Ag Lab).[4]
In 1861 George Panchard (age 20, Agricultural Labourer) lived at High Street in Rattlesden with his father Jeremiah (61, Church Clerk), mother Sarah (59), brother Harry (15, Agricultural Labourer), niece Ann Panchard (6), and two visitors: Elizabeth Willmott (63) and Rebecca Willmott (17).[5]
In 1871 George Punchard (age 30, Agricultural Labourer) lived in Rattlesden with his wife Harriett (29) and five children: Emma (7), Walter (4), Maria (3), Charles (1), and John [George] (0).[7]
In 1881 George Punchard (age 42, Agr Labourer) lived in Rattlesden with his wife Harriet (41) and seven children: Walter (14, Ag Labourer), Maria (12, Scholar), Charles (11, Scholar), Caroline (8, Scholar), Harriet (6, Scholar), Ellen (3), and William (0).[8]
In 1891 George Punchard (age 50, General Labourer) lived at Upper Street in Rattlesden with his wife Harriett (49) and four children: Walter (24, General Labourer), Charles (20, General Labourer), Ellen (13, Scholar), and William (10, Scholar).[9]
In 1901 George Punchard (age 60, Bricklayer's Labourer) lived at Top Street in Rattlesden with his wife Harriett (59), son Walter (34, Farm Labourer), and grandson Percy Punchard (5).[10]
In 1911 George Punchard (age 70, Farm Labourer) lived in Rattlesden with his wife Harriet (69), son Walter (44, Farm Labourer), and grandson Percy (15, Farm Labourer).[11]
George's wife Harriett Punchard passed away in 1915.
George Punchard passed away in 1926, aged 85 years.[12]
