Samuel married Ann Brewer January 2, 1801, in Bardstown, Nelson, Kentucky.[2]
Samuel moved shortly after his marriage to the Laughery Creek Valley in Dearborn county, Indiana. They settled when there were few in the area including the Ross family who lived next to them and Ebenezer Harbert beyond that with the Conaways further down.[3]
Samuel and four of his family (Benjamin, Sr., Lawrence, Benjamin, Jr., and John) were listed as electors for the election held at the house of Daniel Conaway on August 3, 1812, in Laughery Township. Benjamin, Sr., also acted as an election judge.[4]
He was an original purchaser of a portion of section 2 in Pike township in Ohio county (also part in Dearborn county), Indiana, in 1814.[5]

FWF10-15 = 1
FWF16-25 = 1
FWF26-44 = 1 (Ann should be about 34, so this fits)

In 1810, another Samuel Purcel was counted in Loudoun County, Virginia
FWM26-44 = 1 (the age is correct but he should have a wife and some kids)
