Research Notes

The death notice is believed to be the correct one because there is evidence that George PURCELL's parents, John PURCELL and Ann spent time in Australia. John was a soldier. He was born in Ireland, but lived in Great Yarmouth according to a military record for him.
George's brother, William PURCELL or POSTLE, married Harriet SEWELL's sister-in-law, Mary Ann LARN. William was born in New South Wales, Australia.
There are a number of criminal records for George. One links him with Yarmouth and another is in Australia.
