Joseph's birthdate of 1714 fits with his siblings, and is reported on find-a-grave[1]
In his will (see below), Jonathan leaves 1/3 of his estate to his wife Mercy. One of the witnesses to the signing of the will is "my brother by marriage John Smith of Bedford." Based on that, it seems clear that his wife was Mercy Smith. It appears that they had no children, or perhaps that they outlived their children.
Name: Mercy Smith Birth: ABT 1723 Death: 15 JUN 1805 Burial: Presbyterian Ground, Yorktown, Westchester Co, NY [2]
Joseph died in 1777. In a will dated Dec. 6, 1769 and proved June 24, 1778, Joseph Purdy of Westchester mentions his brothers Obadiah, Abraham, and Jonathan.[3] Note that brother Obadiah died shortly after witnessing the will.
