Biography
Robert was born about 1755, likely in Scotland. The surname was written both Purves and Purvis.
Robert married Elizabeth Wightman before 1797. Nothing further is known about him. He died before 1851, when the UK census showed his widow, Elizabeth, lived with daughter Isabella and son-in-law William Clazie at Whitsome, Berwickshire, in southern Scotland. [1]
