Biography
Marshall was born about 1898. He died in 1956.[1] He was a mechanic.[2]
He married Margaret Daniel Whitby and they had a son, Melvin, in North Carolina. [3] The 1930 Census record for Melvin states that his father was born in Mississippi.
Marshall J. Purvis is listed as the father in the Social Security number applications for Gwendolyn Easter Purvis[4] and John Henry Purvis. [5]
Marshall is listed as the deceased father in the 1957 marriage license for son, John Henry Purvis.[6]
