Robert Purvis & Kate McIntosh were married on the 7th June 1897 in the house of Mr.Hector McIntosh at Fernside, Rangiora. Both were over 21 years old and neither had been married before. Robert Purvis was a farmer, born in Glasgow, Scotland. Kate McIntosh came from Rosshire, Scotland. The brides parents were Hector and Kate McIntosh nee Forbes. Witnesses were William McIntosh, farmer of Fernside and Helen Elizabeth Smith of Fernside.
