John Bishop Putnamand his wife, Emma Frances (Faulkner) Putnam. George was the grandson and namesake of George Palmer Putnam, founder and CEO of Putnam & Sons, publishers.
George Palmer Putnam was American aviatrix Amelia Earhart's husband and business partner in the 1930s.
George Palmer Putnam had been married before he married Amelia Mary Earhart in 1931. He had two sons by his 1st marriage to Dorothy Binney (m. 1911; divorced: 1929).
