James passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Jim was born in Pullman on June 3, 1929, to Charles and Edna Pyle. Jim became a full-time firefighter and served the Pullman Fire Department for 39 years. Jim, a quiet man of integrity, was deeply committed to his Christian faith and to his family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Edna; sisters, Evelyn Abendroth and Charlotte Turner; and brother, Delmer Pyle. Jim is survived by his wife, Joan; brother, R.O. (Shirley) Pyle, of Pullman; his three children, Connie (Jerry) Kyllo, of Pullman, Ron (Julie) Pyle of Spokane, Wash., and Jodi Pyle, of Spokane; and five grandchildren. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 2 p.m. April 26, at Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 111 S. Thor St., Spokane.
