Biography

Ethelinda Pyle, daughter of Nicholas Pyle and Mary Pyle, born Sept 20, 1827 in Christian County, Kentucky. She died August 26, 1839 in Dade County, Missouri. She is buried at Fullington Cemetery (Known in the Pyle family as Good Hope).[1]

Ethelinda's grave-site, is the oldest known grave in Fullington. Her father Nicholas's grave is the second oldest, with his death occurring in 1845.[1]

Ethelinda and both her parents graves are located next to each other in the same row, and have similar lettering on their grave markers. There are two other sisters buried in this row, one on either side of the three mentioned graves. (Sarah and Emily).[1]

The cemetery is located in Dade County, Missouri although it is very close to the Cane Hill community which is in Cedar County, Missouri. Nicholas and his wife Mary moved here from Christian County, Kentucky in the 1830s along with several of their children. Some relatives moved at later dates. Nicholas is noted in the 1840s census in Polk County, Missouri. Cedar and Dade Counties were formed in the 1840s from parts of Polk County.
