Family Finder ancestor locations and migrations

Here is a map of places where my 3x great-grandparents, 2x great-grandparents and great-grandparents lived. Numbers on the markers correspond with Wikitree profiles.

These ancestors have contributed DNA that appears much closer than it actually is:

Endogamous populations:
  • New Netherland
  • Cedar Creek, Henrico and South River Quakers

Confirmed DNA relationships

Confident DNA ancestors

Undiscovered connection

These are ancestors that are confirmed by DNA but my direct connection has not been found yet:

Chromosome 17, from about 9,046,308 to 31485567 is chock full of maternal cousins with multiple shared ancestors, including a Franklin bunch of some sort, the Perkins, Kendricks, Mitchells, Cheathams, and the Welsh of Virginia and Pennsylvania (Davis, Lewis, Owen, etc). A cousin with a closer match is needed.

Agnes Butcher is the furthest mtDNA ancestor of certainty. While H3 is my current haplogroup I'm actually H3-G14900A, a predictive new sub branch. Within my predictive new sub branch, I have a one step match that also descends from Agnes and a 0 step match with someone whose ancestors have lived in England for several generations.

Robert Butcher, father of Agnes, has disputed ancestry.

Oddly, I have an exact mtDNA match with Ashley Judd.

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for your message re: Boshaar-3.

Adding the template to a profile should be enough. That automatically also adds the profile to the Palatine Migrants category.

We now have 965 names added to the project.

Hello from across Wikitree (I manage a 'few' Depew profiles myself, and if you'd like, please subscribe to the "Depew" family edits on here).

I also figured I'd invite you to join 'The Depew Family' facebook group at that I (and a few others on here) manage.

I've been working since early 2014 to try to link the Depew/DePew name to anyone earlier than about 1700, and also to see who all the cousins/sons/daughters are (there were a couple early generations of 11 kids each, but I am only of -one- of those links).

I hope this comment finds you well, and look forward to hopefully hearing back from you soon!

Hi Carrie, why did you put a category for Mary (Bragaw) Updike needing a LNAB? She has one, it's 'Bragaw' as indicated in the LNAB field.

My great grandmother's maiden name was

Elizabeth Ten Broeck, but because her ancestors were Loyalists during the war, but after the war, moved back to Herkimer Co. N.Y. to marry a first cousin, she was called "Tin-Breeches" by her 'school-children classmates, so she died her natural white-blonde hair with purple poke berries. That is the story my mother told me.
