Biography

When William Lloyd Quattlebaum was born on October 25, 1851, in Lexington, South Carolina, his father, John, was 29 and his mother, Mary, was 27. He had seven brothers and eight sisters. He married Priscilla Susanna Gunter (1857-1931) and had seven children:

  1. Mattie Vernell (Quattlebaum) Cullum (1877-1968)
  2. William Edward Quattlebaum (1880-1944)
  3. James Daniel Quattlebaum (1882-1970)
  4. Wilson Russell Quattlebaum (1885-1962)
  5. Mary Ethel (Quattlebaum) (Hinnant) Miller (1888-1961)
  6. Lucy Athensiah Quattlebaum (1891-1936)
  7. Priscilla May (Quattlebaum) (Baltzagar) Jones (1894-1976)

He died on August 14, 1897, in South Carolina at the age of 45, and was buried in Ridge Spring, South Carolina.[1]
