Biography

Samuel was born on 15 Jun 1819 at Montgomery, North Carolina, United States.[1] He was the son of Reuben Queen and Mary Catherine (Butler) Queen.


Samuel married Jane Petty.[2]


"Child of John and Elizabeth Petty as told by Ann Catherine Petty, the 6th child of John and Elizabeth.

Jane Petty - Born March 18, 1822 in Hardin County, Tennessee. Died August 14, 1909. Married Samuel Queen and had 9 children. This couple was married in Arkansas before coming to Texas. They settled inWilliamson County near the little town of Florence. The Queen family lead a colorful life. Sam Queen was the uncle of J. Frank Norfleet who is well known inTexas history. One of the Queen sons turned outlaw and was killed up on the Red River. Others led very useful lives in Williamson County and surrounding country. Descendants of the Queens live in Georgetown , Austin and nearby places. Sam and Jane Queen are buried in Lawler Cemetery near Florence, Texas."
