Research Note

Served in the Confederacy during the Civil War, was captured at Cumberland Gap and imprisoned near Chicago. Family tradion states he died due to poor food and other unhealthy conditions in the camp as was so often during those war years. His military record indicates he was dishcarged at the end of the war.
Nathaniel was a member of the 62nd Regament, North Carolina Infantry.
