Biography

Elias Butler Queen Jr. was born at Weir on May 15, 1856. He was one of ten children of Elias Butler Queen Sr. and Martha Jane Barber, and worked with his father on the Queen ranch. He was called "Pomp" by the Queens. On June 2, 1876 at Georgetown TX Elias Butler Jr. married Elizabeth Bryant

(b. Mar 28, 1860 in South Carolina to James Richardson Bryant (1832- 1840??) and Adaline Patterson (1839 - 1874), who were married June 28, 1876. Both J.R. and Adaline are buried in Georgetown, TX.
Elizabeth died of a stroke on Dec 13, 1930.
Elias had light brown hair.
Elizabeth is described as small in stature, Stooped over, and of very serious disposition.
Pomp and Elizabeth and family went through the epidemic of Typhoid Fever and lost 3 of their children to this disease during 1909-1910. The family was living near Channing Tx. at this time and the three children, (Mable, Sam, & Montie) are buried there along with another son, Leon, who died of a stroke.
Of the three who died of Typhoid only Montie was unmarried, and probably still living at home. He was only 14 when he died.
Elias is listed in the US Census of 1880 living in the San Saba area of Texas

From Findagrave: NOTICE OF PROBATE THE STATE OF TEXAS To the Sheriff or any Constable of Williamson county - Greeting: You are hereby commanded to cause to be published once each week for a period of ten days before the return day hereof, in a newspaper of general circulation, which has been continuously and regularly published for a period of not less than one year in said Williamson county, a copy of the following notice:

The State of Texas To all persons interested in the Estate of E.G. Queen, deceased, Mrs. E.A. Queen has filed an application in the County Court of Williamson county, for the probate of the last will and testament of E.G. Queen, deceased and for Letters of Testamentary on said estate, which will be heard by said court at its regular term thereof to be begun and Holden commencing on the first Monday in April A.D., 1925, the same being the 6th day of April, at the court house of said county in Georgetown, Texas, at which time all persons interested in said estate are required to appear and answer said application, should they desire to do so.
