QUICK, a farmer, b 17 Aug. 1766 at South Branch, Somerset Co.; d 27 June 1819 at same place, in his 53d yr.; he married on 12 Mar. 1789, to CATHERINE BEEKMAN, b 18 Jan. 1766 at Harlingen; d 3 May, 1848 at South Branch in 83rd yr. She was the dau. of Christopher6; and Martha (Veghte) Beekman of Harlingen, N. J., where she was bap. 31 Aug. 1766. p. 91:F274

Christopher6 Beekman(1730-1829), descended from: Gerardus Christopher5 (1797-1778), Christopher4 (1681-1724), Col. Gerardus3 (1653-1723), Wilhelmusz Beekman2 (1623-1707), son of Hendrikl Beekman, who came from Holland in the “Princess” to New Amsterdam with Peter Stuyvesant, 1647; vice dir. of the colony on South River, 1658-1664; Lieut. Burgher Corps of New Amsterdam, 1652-58; of New Orange, 1673-74; schout and commissary at Esopus, 1664; Lieut. militia, 1673; dep. mayor of N. Y., 1681-83; m 1649, Catalina (d 1700), dau. of Hendrik de Boogh of Albany.

Death

Abraham J. Quick died on 27 June 1819, and Catherine are both buried in the Van Camp Graveyard near the river between South Branch and Neshanic Station .

Abraham J. Quick’s Will, dated 3 Sept. 1816, names wife, Catherine, and son, Joakim A. Quick, and 4 daughters. The will was proved 23 July 1819. Abraham J. was bap. at Harlingen 21 Aug. 1766 (Holland Soc.).
