I am 57 years old and have been researching for over 25 years now. I have hit several brick walls on the Paternal and Maternal side. Trying to break down those walls.
Paternal side: Eli Quick & Drucilla Turner>Mary Ann Quick & UNKNOWN>Roland Mal Quick & Laura Ann Kelley>Ernest Eugene Quick & Lois Pauline Beckom> my dad> Then ME
Eli Quick, along with Drucilla Turner and her father Moses Turner left Bennettsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina and settled in Fayette County, Georgia. There are theories out there that suggest Thomas Quick is the father of Eli Quick. But, also some say they believe that Stephen Quick is the father of Eli Quick.
Thomas Lanson Beckom & Malinda Ann King>William Jackson Beckom & Rosa Dell Entrekin>Lois Pauline Beckom & Ernest Eugene Quick> my dad> then ME
John Bennet Entrekin & Sarah Milwee>Joseph Gideon Entrekin & Rebecca ?Dean? not sure about last name>James Gideon Entrekin & Mary Elizabeth Wilson>Rosa Dell Entrekin & William Jackson Beckom>Lois Pauline Beckom & Ernest Eugene Quick
Maternal side: Enoch Morris & Mary Polly Sexton>Joseph Forrester Morris & Mary Ann Starnes>William O Morris & Jennie Webb>Theodore W Morris & Myrtle Helen Bunn>Arthur William Morris & Naomi Ruth Boynton> my mom> then ME
I found out that Jinny/Jennie/Jenny/ Webb was the 1st wife of William O. Morris. She is my 2nd Great-Grandmother. They had 3 children.
William married 2nd wife Nellie Cobb. They went on to have 5 children of their own. When William O Morris died, before 1910, Nellie Cobb Morris sent the 3 oldest boys to the Dekalb County Childrens Home in Georgia. Nellie Cobb Morris did spend some time at the Milledgeville, Georgia State Hospital.
My biological maternal grandfather Arthur William Morris left when my mom was an infant. She never knew him. He and my grandmother divorced in 1947. He changed his last name to "Morrison" around 1951. He remarried in 1965 and went on to have 2 more daughters. I do believe that there are possibly 2 other kids (siblings to my mom) out there somewhere. It has been said he had a boy and a girl with a woman in Utah. I can not find anything on that. No new siblings have shown up in my mom's DNA testing. So, who knows? Another one of life's mysteries.
Amos Boynton & Sarah Snow>Elijah Snow Boynton & Elizabeth Moffett>Yancey Boynton & Elizabeth Sansom>Elijah Winston Boynton & Martha C Dunn>Charles Yancey Boynton & Talulah Jane "Lula" Bryant>John Thomas Boynton, Sr & Julia Guss Parks>Naomi Ruth Boynton & Arthur William Morris>my mom? then ME
Samuel H Parks & Lucy M "Lula" Long>Julia Guss Parks & John Thomas Boynton, Sr>Naomi Ruth Boynton & Arthur William Morris> my Mom> then ME
Samuel H Parks is another tricky one. I have searched for years as to who his parents are. I believe that I finally did. I know that Pamela Devenport/Davenport is his mother, it shows a Samuel Parks or John Parks could be his father? Samuel and John may be the same man. But, I do know that Pamela remarried to a Zachariah Conger and had more children.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
