Biography

James Quinn was born about 1813 in Kilmacumsy. He was the son of James Quinn and Anne Travers.

Circa 1860, James married Mary Keogh. They rented farm 6a from George M McGusty which consisted of six acres for £4 10s. Their house was worth 5s[1]. They lived on the border between Runnacocka and Lisphilip townlands.

On 22 Jan 1877, James (64) allegedly assaulted by Thomas McKeon of Corroy. There was no appearance in court on 1 Feb 1877.

James Quinn died on 25 Apr 1881, aged about sixty eight years old. His cause of death was heart disease (three days). His son James Jr was present at his death[2].
